Did you overindulge the last month and need some detox tips?
We do it every year, we live it up for a few weeks, we eat, we drink and we have a great time. Then we try to get back on track, but sometimes it’s really hard. That’s because your liver is probably “sluggish” and tired.. it has been working hard! When you start to eat healthy again but you still don’t feel great, it’s because your liver is struggling and then you don’t get the nutrients from the healthy foods you are eating. It’s not just alcohol that hurts our livers, it’s excessive sugar and carbs too. Some signs that your liver is struggling are bloating, acid reflux, constipation, unable to lose weight and fatigue.
Here’s some detox tips to help your liver bounce back:
- Drink green vegetable juices with lemon and parsley
- Stop eating crap, if there’s any left in the house just get rid of it
- Colonics can give you a great jump start
- Dandelion and Milk Thistle supplements are a great way to get your liver clean faster
- Eat liver! Liver from grass-fed animals is one of the most nutrient dense foods you can eat. I can’t do calf liver myself, but I do love chicken liver pate.
